Connect an MCP client

Add this remote server to your MCP client:

Confirm the connection, then ask your AI assistant to list or use the iLovePDF tools.

The server uses Streamable HTTP MCP. Basic tool calls work in standard compatible clients; the inline upload experience appears only in hosts that support MCP Apps.

Use local files

In an MCP App-compatible host, call any iLovePDF tool with an empty source list. The interactive app lets you select files, configure the operation, upload them, and download the result.

Use the upload page

Upload a local file, select the intended operation, and copy the resulting sources value into your MCP tool request.

A session is tied to one operation and expires shortly after upload.

Use a public HTTPS file

Pass one or more publicly reachable HTTPS URLs directly. For a safe example, use this service’s demo PDF:

Do not use a URL that requires browser cookies, private-network access, or a login.

Files already attached in chat

If your AI client explicitly exposes a file already attached in chat as multipart bytes, it can upload directly to this service: send POST https://mcp.ilovepdf.com/uploads with multipart fields operation and file, then use the returned session_id in the matching MCP tool. Do not assume every MCP client can read chat attachments; use the inline App or upload page when it cannot.

Claude workspace access

For Claude Enterprise or Team, an administrator must allow mcp.ilovepdf.com in Admin settings → Capabilities → Workspace network settings.

Connect your iLovePDF account

When your MCP client connects, it opens iLovePDF sign-in and asks you to authorize this MCP service. Your account connection is used only for your requests and can be revoked from the connected-app settings.

You need an iLovePDF account, but not your own iLovePDF developer API key.

What happens to files

Uploaded documents are sent to iLovePDF for processing. This worker stores only short-lived session and task metadata, not document bytes. Download links and session IDs should be treated as private.

Use only files you are authorized to process. Avoid placing session IDs, result links, or document URLs in public conversations or logs.
